Weekend Update
To sum it all up...my weekend was great!
Friday night the boys and I spent the evening at Joe's house. We had some delicious pepper steaks. I buy them at a place on 122nd and Division called the Original Steer Market. It is my favorite butcher. It smells so good in there. The smell reminds me of when I was a kid and my mom would take me to her butcher and he would always give me a free hot dog while my mom ordered her meat. The boys watched a video of 30 years of National Geographic. They really liked seeing all the animals in the different shows. Then they watched Ice Age (well, Zan watched it...William fell asleep too fast to see much of it).
Saturday morning we took off to Ocean Shores to visit my parents. In Aberdeen we stopped at a little farmer's market. We bought some delicious strawberries (that were picked that very morning) and we bought the most delicious bread EVER. It was french bread, but was flavored with sun-dried tomatoes and pesto. Yummy! I still have half a loaf which I plan to eat tonight when I get home.
We arrived in Ocean Shores in good time, although I was glad to get there...boy what a long drive. Especially with two boys with WAY too much energy. We ate lunch with my parents and then we headed to the beach. I have never been to the beach on such a beautiful day. The weather was hot, about 80 I would say, and there was a nice coastal breeze which kept the heat comfortable. I even dipped my feet in the ocean and it wasn't too cold (amazing!) The boys had a great time playing in the sand and the waves. I even got a little bit of a sunburn on my legs (because I forgot to put sunscreen on my legs...silly me) My parents brought their folding chairs down to the beach and they both fell asleep. I got a picture of the two of them (my mom with her head back, mouth open...) It will be a great picture!
Saturday night my parents gave Joe and I a coupon for the casino in town which gave us an extra $5 in gambling money. I bought $20 for the slots and cashed in $50 so that was cool. I got a cute little hat with part of my winnings and I gave the rest to a different slot machine...oh well...it was fun:) After the casino Joe and I went down to the beach and sat on the beach and watched part of the sunset. It was so beautiful plus we had a good conversation. After the walk on the beach we took a quick drive around the town and ended up at a park and spent a few minutes on the swings. It was a lot of fun to just goof off and having fun. After the park we stopped at the store to get a snack and we got the coolest stick of pepperoni. It was called a bullwhip and it was about 3 feet long!!! We had to hold it up in the air to make sure it didn't drag on the floor. It was fun. We ate about half of it that night and then we shared the other half with the boys on our drive home on Sunday.
Sunday we headed home and stopped at a great church in Aberdeen. The boys had a great time in their classes (Zan even got a tatoo) and the service was great. It was all about Fatherhood (in honor of Father's Day of course) and it was great. Then on the way home from church we took a detour to a lake and we all decided that we would come back later this summer and go fishing at the lake. The boys seemed very excited with the prospect.
Well, that about sums it up. Hopefully my week ends up as good as my weekend was!

wow, what a great time you had! Taty is feeling much better as of last night. I think she was just tired. That sounds like the best weekend, including the bread which I am sure is gone by now!
