Black Cherry

My good friend Tanya gave me a tasty bottle of Black Cherry pop by Thomas Kemper. It is good! I am not usually a huge fan of fruit flavored pop, but this stuff is great! They use honey, ginger and pure vanilla and everything is hand-crafted, hand-measured, and each batch is made from scratch. Did I mention that this stuff is good??? I would love to try a cream soda from these guys...I bet that would be heaven!

Thanks Tanya!

Random thoughts

So, I was going through a file today and I ran across a reference for someone with the name Bill Williams. Now, as far as I know, most people named Bill are really William by birth...so who had the great idea of naming this guy William Williams. Seems a bit redundant to me!

I want to know what I was thinking this morning when I took off for the day with no coat! Granted it was nice today when I left, but it is supposed to rain all week. So I had to go out in the rain at lunch and dodge raindrops. Luckily it wasn't very cold, just a little wet. On my walk at lunch I went to get soup and salad from Spoons (one of the carts by my work) which is run by "cute soup boy" (phrase originally coined by Liz last year). I got some tasty split pea and ham soup...tasty! and a tortilla salad. I haven't been to his cart all winter and today it just sounded good. The only thing I have to say is that although his soup is still the best in town, he just doesn't meet my criteria for "cute soup boy" anymore. Maybe it is because I am totally in love with Joe, maybe "cute soup boy" just isn't as cute anymore. I don't know...it is a mystery. Oh well, life is full of meaningless mysteries, right??

So, camping was absoltuely WONDERFUL this weekend. I had the best time with Joe and his friends. The boys had a blast (although Zan was quite bummed about not getting to go to his dad's house...man...he bugs me. He only sees the boys 6 days a month and cancels on 3 of them...grrrrrrr). Anyway, back to my great weekend. The weather was great on Saturday. We had a tasty breakfast (cooked by Brian and Kristy) and we went down to the lake to play in sun and Joe and I went on a nice swim to the dock in the lake. Although when we got to the dock, we found out that it was covered in duck poo...so we sat on the edge (where there wasn't any poo) caught our breath, and headed back to shore. It sure is nice having someone who likes to do fun things, makes life a whole lot more enjoyable. We played some cribbage over the weekend and I even took a nap one day for about an hour. I finished a book and enjoyed a good dose of a babyfix (since Brian and Kristy have the cutest little baby girl). It is amazing how good of a time I had. I just want to turn around and do it all over again!

Well, I must be off. Only two weeks of school left! I am glazing (hopefully) the last of my pottery projects tonight. Time sure flies! It will be great to just work for a while. I am hoping to get the boys in swimming now that my classes are over and maybe take some bike rides with them when the weather is nice again.

Not such a great day...

So, this morning on the train I hit my head on one of the bars behind the seat. Not quite sure how I did it...but it hurt. I still have a headache!

Then, just a minute ago...my earring broke. It is my favorite earring too. I guess after 5 years of wearing the same earrings I should expect this...but darn it...they were supposed to last forever! Oh well...I guess I will just have to find some new ones. It just won't be the same though:(

It is said things happen in threes...so I wonder what will happen next...

S'mores

I am so excited to go camping this weekend! Last night I stopped off at the store and bought a bunch of S'more stuff. Yummy! Nothing like roasting marshmellows to make a camping trip complete.

I packed all my stuff last night, so I am ready for sleeping in a tent. It has been such a long time. I miss waking up to nature and hearing the campfire popping and crackling.

Not much

Well, I don't have much to say today, but I thought I should update everyone anyway. I had a great day off with William. He and I watched a movie together and went grocery shopping. Then we picked up Zan from school and went shopping for Brent's B-day party (Zan's best friend). It was a nice relaxing day. I really enjoyed spending some quality time with the little guys.

Friday was actually a lot of fun. I went to Eugene for the transitional meeting, so I am officially vice president of OASFAA. I was pleasantly surprised that the meeting was not mind-numbing boring. I had a good time and had a tasty lunch....good stuff!

Saturday I took Zan to the B-day party and Will and I snuggled up in bed with a movie and both took a nice long nap. It felt so good to do pretty much nothing for the whole weekend.

Sunday was church and my family reunion. The weather was...well...weird... Sunny in some moments...torrential downpours in other moments...go figure. We had fun anyway. The food was great and everyone really liked Joe. The kids had fun with all the cousins and were WORN OUT at the end of the day. We also went and watched most of Joe's last two basketball games. They almost won....oh well, maybe next season:)

Well, that is all for now. Camping is coming up this next weekend. Woo hoo! I can't wait! Hopefully it isn't going to rain the whole time!

Stress

I SO hate stress. Why is it that every time I depend on my mom she cancels on me! I only have 4 weeks left of school and she cancels babysitting for today AND Thursday. It just makes me want to growl...

I know I should be more understanding, but she has been commiting to help me out for the past two years and about every 3 months she cancels on me. Sure the reasons she has are valid...but why does she commit to things she knows she can't handle???? I even asked her this time if she was really able to commit to this last class...and she said yes. She would be able to do it...no problem. Just really makes me angry.

Okay...thanks for letting me vent...

The Most Perfect Day

Well, up until this weekend I had never had an absolutely perfect day. I have had good days, even great days, but never perfect. Something always goes wrong or there is something that I would change if I had the chance.

Well, now I am happy to say I have had a perfect day. Saturday Joe woke me up with blueberry pancakes, strawberries, and perfectly cooked bacon. Yummy! He must know the way to my heart is through my tummy:) Then we slept for a few more hours and then I went shopping for a few hours while he had to run to work. When I got back from shopping we went and bought our movie tickets at the Kennedy school and then we headed to the river (Columbia) walked on the beach, and sat on a bench in the sunshine for a while. It was nice and relaxing. When the movie was about to start we headed back to the Kennedy School and watched the Aviator. We even got there early enough to get a love seat to snuggle on while we watched the movie.

After the movie we had dinner at Olive Garden (YUMMY AGAIN!!!) and we had the absolute BEST service EVER!.

Such a great day...it just kept on getting better. I am SO in love with this man. He is so great:)

What a week!

Boy am I glad it is Friday! I am finally seeing the world of the living again. I can actually talk without coughing! I have sure hated being sick...and it seems like I have been sick FOREVER! Well, it has almost been forever...going on three weeks now!

This is Dusty's weekend for the boys, so Joe and I are going to see a movie and eat some tasty food tomorrow night for dinner. Sunday we are going to his grandpa's b-day party, so that should be fun. I get to meet the family, I am excited:)

Today is my last installment of shopping...it has been a fun week. I have been using the money I got from my family for graduation to buy myself a new wardrobe. It has been a TON of fun! Today I need to get a couple of shirts for the pants and suits I got this week and a pair of cream colored shoes for my cream suit (since I don't have anything to match it right now).

Well, I must work! Adios my loves!

The weekend all about me!

So, before Saturday (my graduation day) I thought that graduation was about me. I was mistaken! The ceremony had to be one hour and 15 minutes of junk NOT about me. But the last 20 minutes were great...that part was actually about me and my friends graduating...finally! Oh well, nothing like your brain going numb for over an hour to make you appreciate that you never have to sit through another boring lecture! LOL

The best part about having graduation on Saturday was that Sunday was Mother's Day. So the whole weekend was mine! All mine! Unfortunately my kids decided to be kids today and were grumpy and grouchy...so much for a peaceful, relaxing mother's day <> But it was still a good day. Joe made me eggs and ham for breakfast...tasty. I got a sweet card from my kids (Alexis picked it out). Alexis got me a dual graduation/Mother's Day gift of chocolate turtles (yummy again) and the kids all got me a new chain for my necklace (they picked it out, I paid for it...such is Mother's Day for a single mom!!). Zan made me the SWEETEST card at school. It had a whole paragraph talking about how I was nice and he loved me but my favorite part was, "You are silly almost every day". You know that came right from his heart. Such a sweety that little guy is.

Well, I am off to curl up in bed with some hot chocolate and a good book. See you all tomorrow!

Funny!

Okay, maybe I am in a strange mood, but I thought this was funny!

A lawyer married a woman who had previously divorced ten husbands. On their wedding night, she told her new husband, "Please be gentle, I'm still a virgin." "What?" said the puzzled groom. "How can that be if you've been married ten times?"
"Well, Husband #1 was a sales representative; he kept telling me how great it was going to be. Husband #2 was in software services; he was never really sure how it was supposed to function, but he said he'd look into it and get back to me.
Husband #3 was from field services; he said everything checked out diagnostically but he just couldn't get the system up.
Husband #4 was in telemarketing; even though he knew he had the order, he didn't know when he would be able to deliver.
Husband #5 was an engineer; he understood the basic process but wanted three years to research, implement, and design a new state-of-the-art method.
Husband #6 was from finance and administration; he thought he knew how, but he wasn't sure whether it was his job or not.
Husband #7 was in marketing; although he had a nice product, he was never sure how to position it.
Husband #8 was a psychologist; all he ever did was talk about it.
Husband #9 was a gynecologist; all he did was look at it.
Husband #10 was a stamp collector; all he ever did was... God! I miss him! But now that I've married you, I'm really excited!" "Good," said the new husband, "but, why?" "You're a lawyer. This time I know I'm gonna get screwed!"

Victory

I actually found somewhere that has split pea soup today. How exciting is that? Okay, for most people this wouldn't be exciting...but this is Teresa that we are talking about. I get excited about food very easily...you all should know that!

Friday's

So, normally I would be full of energy right now. Excited that the weekend is almost here. Today should be no different. In fact, I should be MORE excited and full of energy being that I am graduation tomorrow...but instead I feel lumpy. I am grouchy and want to hang out in bed and read a book.

I am craving some soup for lunch. I really want some split pea soup, although I am not sure if I am going to find any restaurant that is serving it today. There is a conspiracy when it comes to soup on Fridays. Everyone always serves clam chowder. How is that fair?!? I don't like it. Doesn't anyone consider my feelings?????

51 hours

Can you believe it...I am finally to the point where I can count down to my graduation in hours! How exciting is that!?!

Plus, it is Cinco de Mayo. Not that it means anything to me...but hey...a holiday is a holiday, right? Unfortunately I will be making bowls in ceramics instead of partying...oh well. I am not much of a partier anyway.

3 days

Only 3 days until I am a college graduate. How exciting is that!

grapples

So, I was at the store last night and saw a new fruit...called Grapples. Knowing me, I had to try the new food. It looks like an apple, but tastes like a grape...and it really does. Still has an apple texture, but much sweeter. Reminds me of white grape juice. Very interesting. Just thought I would share my new discovery!

Finally alive again

Wow...what a week of sick! I am finally feeling better...not exactly good, but better. I think the worst is over. Luckily I have a sweet guy to brought dinner over for me and boys every night. Even bought me cough medicine when I ran out so I wouldn't have to go to the store. Any man that would hang out with a sick, coughing, feverish woman for a week after work is a keeper!
