One day a 6 year old girl was sitting in a
classroom.

The teacher asked
a little boy: Tommy do you see the tree
outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Tommy, do you see the grass
outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Go outside and look up and see
if you can see the sky.
TOMMY: Okay. (He returned a few minutes
later) Yes, I saw the sky.
TEACHER: Did you see God up there?
TOMMY: No.
TEACHER: That's my point. We can't see
God because he isn't there. Possibly he just
doesn't exist.A little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the
boy some questions.
The teacher agreed and the little girl asked
the boy: Tommy, do you see the tree
outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy do you see the grass
outside?
TOMMY: Yessssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Did you see the sky?
TOMMY: Yessssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the
teacher?
TOMMY: Yes
LITTLE GIRL: Do you see her brain?
TOMMY: No
LITTLE GIRL: Then according to what we
were taught today in school, she possibly
may not even have one!

Let it snow

Yesterday it started to snow and on my way home last night it was really coming down. It was so beautiful (but also very slippery.) I was hoping the snow would be enough to cancel school...but no such luck. Here I am...still needing a long vacation. I have become tired of coming here and seem to be grouchy about just about everything at work (internally at least...I am still my happy self outwardly.) Once I leave I am all good. Maybe a vacation is all I need...but I really think it is time for me to move on. Hopefully something great will come my way...and soon!

Thanksgiving Update

I had a wonderful time in Pullman for the Thanksgiving holiday. We had lots of tasty food and lots of fun. It snowed Thursday night and continued to snow all weekend (even on our drive home.) The boys had a great time playing in the snow. Eliza and I went out on Friday to go shopping. We left the house at about 5:30 and did some great shopping. It was a lot of fun. I got pretty much all the Christmas shopping done. I just need to get the boys some clothes (since they both seem to have grown over the last few weeks.)

Last night I spent some time wrapping and got about half of the wrapping. Plus, I got the Christmas decorations out and decorated the house. We just need to get the tree. I am hoping we can get the tree on Saturday. Have I mentioned that I LOVE Christmas!! Plus, having all the snow over the weekend really put me in the Christmas mood. Even though it rarely snows in Portland, I still associate snow with Christmas. I am always “Dreaming of a White Christmas.”

This weekend we are going to Joe’s grandma’s birthday party. I believe she is turning 90. It will be fun to see everyone, especially Joe’s parents. They live closer now, but we still don’t see them too often. The boys especially like to visit up there.

Still haven’t heard from Dusty about his plans for Christmas. Hopefully he will make a decision so we can finalize our Christmas plans.

Not much else going on. Let me know how your Thanksgiving went!

Job Update

Well, I didn't get the job. But I know that God has a plan and me not getting this job is part of it. I just need to trust and wait (sound familiar Jenn?? LOL.) I guess for now I will just stay where I am and keep looking for something even better.

I don't think I have posted so much in a long time. It feels good.

Anyway...love you all.

Turkey Day

I just wanted to wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are headed to my sister-in-laws house. It will be great to see her, her hubby, and of course my little nieces. My great sister-in-law is even going to get up early and go shopping on Friday. I am so happy and excited!

Enjoy the turkey!

Baby Savannah is here!!

My best friend, Michelle, who lives in Montana just had her baby on Sunday. I am so excited. She is SO cute and looks just like her older sister. She was 7 lbs, 15 oz. and was 21.75 inches long! I can't wait till she visits with her mom, dad, and big sister at Christmas.
She is beautiful...don't you agree???

Interview

Well, my interview went well. I started to get nervous on my way, so I tookt he time to say a prayer and I was instantly at peace. I know God has planned this for me. It is going so smoothly. But I also trust that if I don't get this job, there was a reason and he has something even better for me. It really takes a lot of stress off when you just trust that God knows what you need and you don't have to stress about things anymore. I should find out next week sometime. Please continue to pray for God's hand to be in my life.

I sure will miss all my friends at Everest. Hopefully I will stay in touch with most of them. It can be so hard to keep the lines of communication open once you move away.

Prayers please...

Hello all of you! Life has sure taken a turn...but I believe it will be for the better. I recently found out that it will take another 3 years before my promotion to director will happen so I have been thinking about looking for a new job. Joe and I have been praying for guidance in finding the perfect job. I applied for a job that sounds great, helping Job Corp graduates find jobs. The job pays about what I make now and is close to home. That means I would be able to spend more time with the boys since my commute would be much shorter, plus I would save money by not having to take the bus everyday.
Please pray that God will continue to guide me and if this job is in my plan, pray that everything will go smoothly with the interview and hiring process.

Thanks so much! I love all of you!!

It's raining again...

Not too big of news normally, but unfortunately it has been raining INSIDE our building (for the 2nd time this month!!!) Once again we are "decorating" with green trash bags to protect our computers and printers. It is almost funny how these events have been playing out. The first time we flooded was from the first rain on the season (while the roofers were still roofing.) I am still not sure why they were roofing in October which is typically a very wet month in Oregon... Things that make you go hmmmmm....

This time the roofers did something to our water system in the ceiling (not quite sure what)
