Joke of the day

At Sunday School they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings.

Little Johnny a child in the kindergarten class, seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs.

Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and said, "Johnny what is the matter?"

Little Johnny responded, "I have a pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife."

5 days to Christmas

We are growing ever closer to Christmas. I am quite excited!

Only one more day of work until my LONG vacation. I was very lucky that I got yesterday off due to the snow. It made a very nice 3 days weekend leading up to a very short work week. What could be better?

Joe and I got stuck in a bunch of traffic on Sunday when the storm came through. It was crazy. We spent almost two hours on the road going about 3 miles.

Christmas with my parents went pretty well. My mom started crying at one point, but other than that everything went well. Not too bad.

Kids say the funniest things...

And students aren't far behind. Today I heard this...

"Can you give me a rough estimate of exactly what I am going to owe"

Since when do rough, estimate, and exactly belong in the same sentence...

Silly

Friday is here!

OH, I can't explain how happy I am that it is Friday. Today was an especially great Friday too. Financial Aid hosted a Christmas brunch that was very tasty. Plus we opened our presents from our secret santa gift exchange. I received an awesome cookbook from the Today show. It has lots of pictures to show what the tasty treats are supposed to look like. Very helpful:) For lunch, Sallie Mae brought a 3-foot sandwich. Yummy! Plus chips and popcorn. Marsha is so great.

Tonight Joe and I are taking the kids to Peacock Lane. For those who don't know about Peacock lane it is a street that every house is lite up with tons of Christmas lights. The residents of the street even have to sign a contract that they will decorate. You can drive down the street, but I like to walk it (even though it is really cold right now.) Walking heightens the experience. Plus I make a thermos of hot coco for after the light show to warm us all up.

Tomorrow is Christmas with my parents. They are coming over around 11 for presents and sandwiches. It will be fun to spend a few hours with them. And Sunday is Joe's Christmas work party. It should be fun too. I am bringing my chicken enchiladas and they are having a white elephant gift exchange. It will be nice to finally meet all of the people Joe works with.

Next week I am only working until Wednesday...then 11 days of vacation!!! Oh...I can't wait! Plus I am only using 5 days of vacation time due to the holidays...even better!

Grumpy I am...

Yep...I am officially, positively grumpy. In my head I know it is because it is "that time" but I still feel very grumpy...which makes me irritated that I am grumpy...which makes me grumpier...and then more irritated...

Boy...what a vicious cycle! I just want to curl up in my bed and zone out.

I am a failure...

Okay...not really, but I have been too busy lately to keep my blog up to date. I feel bad:( I am always thinking..."hey...I should blog about this..." and then time gets away and whatever thought I had of updating my blog goes out the window.

Today was a great day though. I had a meeting for OASFAA. It was a lot of fun (if you can call a meeting about financial aid fun...) Sad to say I do (I know I need help...lol.) But we got a lot of housekeeping done for the organization and I was a voting member on a bunch of scholarship money we had to give away for the annual conference. The conference is at the end of January which should be fun, plus I am taking Anny this year. I know we will have a blast.

I am still counting down the days until Christmas...only 12 to go! I can't wait. Plus I only work through Wednesday of next week....and I don't some back until next year! Woo hoo! I love long vacations. Plus several of the days are holiday pay, so I am not even using much vacation time...only 5 days. I love that too.

Well, I am off to watch a movie with my son. Adios!
