About time for an update

Sorry, I haven't been posting very much recently. Life has been busy, especially at work. So, here is a quick update on life:
1. Dusty fell off the wagon again and didn't pick up the boys, and...of course...didn't call.
2. My Christmas shopping is done, wrapped, and under the tree.
3. My time as vice president of OASFAA is about over. Our last meeting is in next month.
4. Alexis is coming to visit for a few days, starting the day after Christmas
5. Joe and I are going back home for Christmas (Pullman). We are leaving the 22nd and coming home Christmas day (Joe has to work the 26th).
6. I have the week after Christmas off...yeah!
7. I made some tasty Chinese food last night
8. Mickey made fresh bread at work today...yummy

Almost here...

Yep, Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I can't wait to stuff myself full of tasty turkey and gravy. I am not a fan of turkey usually, but it always tastes so great at Thanksgiving. I wonder why? I think it is all the family and fun associated with it. Plus I have to eat a lot because Friday morning I am one of those crazy people out shopping at 5am! I love it. I am going with Genny and maybe Anny this year. We will have a blast. We plan it all out and look at the ads in the newspaper while we are waiting in line. After our morning of great deals we go eat at Elmer's...Yummy! I can't wait!

Quick update

Hello all! What a busy week! Sharon is gone, so I am filling her shoes this week. I enjoy it a lot, but it does take some extra time to get everything done.

Last weekend was great. We went to Pullman to see the Duck vs. Cougar game. It was really close and very exciting. I had a blast, although it was REALLY cold. It even snowed the next morning. This weekend we are on the road again, this time to Moses Lake to visit Joe's dad. We are having an early Thanksgiving with him. It should be fun. Plus the boys haven't met him yet. He lives way out in the middle of nowhere, so the boys can explore the farm and "be boys" while we are there. I think they will have a good time. William is still recovering from a cold, hopefully he will feel better before we leave tomorrow. He has been fighting this cold and cough for over a week. Joe and I both got it too:(

Monday Joe and I are meeting with Zan's teacher for his conference. It should be fun to see how he has improved. He has been working hard to catch up so we will see if he is closer to where he should be in the grade.

Well, off to lunch I go.

Very popular, one of you is not enough.

Little one is sick

William was sick last night and then this morning at 5:30 he came into our bedroom and asked for medicine...then seconds later said, "hurry, mommy, hurry" then I heard those dreadful "I'm about to puke" stomach sounds...which promptly jerked me out of my sleepiness and we headed to the bathroom. He almost threw up, but he didn't have anything in his tummy so he finally worked up a little spit and spit it in the toilet then said, "All right." And was totally fine. It was too funny. But knowing it wouldn't last long I have him some Pepto-Bismo and he watched a movie for a few hours.

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire

Well, as you know I have been listening to Christmas music and Joe and I were talking about the song, "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire" and both commented that we had never had a chestnut. I wonder what they are like. They sound pretty good all roasted and toasted. Today at the little store downstairs (Young's Mart) they had packages of Chestnuts. I almost bought some (just to give them a try) but they didn't look very good...so I passed...but I am still curious. The ones she had for sale felt kind of swishy and gross. There has to be some better ones for my first experience.

I'm so excited...and I just can't hide it

I am SO excited. I just found out that Joe and I are going to go watch a Duck game this weekend in Pullman. My Ducks are playing his Cougars. It is going to be a blast. I have only seen one college game (the one I saw this year) and I can't wait to see my Ducks in person. Plus hopefully we will get to see Eliza and her family while we are visiting as well as Joe's parents.

Surprises at work

When I got to work this morning I had a surprise waiting at my desk. Kyle, our Sallie Mae Rep, had sent me flowers as a wedding present. Isn't that sweet? They are really beautiful and smell great too. Everyone at work had been waiting for several hours to see who gave them to me...they had been very curious. They thought they were from Joe, but they couldn't figure out the occasion.

This morning was my late day so after taking Zan to school I crawled back into my bed and fell asleep. So at 8:30 William walked in and said..."It is time to get up, it is morning." Then he looked outside and saw the sun was up and said..."It is REALLY morning." It was really cute:)

My addiction...

As most of you know...I am addicted to Christmas music. I adore Christmas...it is my favorite holiday.

Great news...Sandy let me know that 106.7 has already started playing non-stop Christmas music. I already have it playing on my radio at my desk. I was going to wait, but everyone around me is in the Christmas spirit so we started today. Right now they are playing Little Drummer Boy...one of my favorites. My absolute favorite Chistmas song is the new version of Carol of the Bells.

Great weekend...

This weekend was great. We had Miss Heather spend the night Friday. All three kids had a great time wrestling in the living room and playing board games. Heather and Zan fell asleep on opposite ends of the couch watching a movie. It was really cute.

My best friend Michelle and her husband Mitch came over and we played games until 11:30. It was a blast. It was so much fun to hang out with them.

Saturday we went to Zan's last soccer game of the year. It was VERY COLD! Tonight is the end of the year party at Papa's Pizza...yummy! After the soccer game we went home to watch the Duck game...who won! It was a great game. Went into overtime...quite a nail biter. It was great finally seeing a game on TV for them. The cougars lost their game:( Poor Joe. It has been a hard year to be a Cougar fan...

Sunday we went to church and then we headed to JC Penneys for our family pictures. They turned out really well. We get to pick them up in two weeks. I can't wait. We are going to put our family portrait on our wall between our wedding vows and family vows (which we framed a month ago) It is going to look great.

Unfortunately my Packer lost again. This just isn't their year. Usually Favre holds the team up, but he has been doing horrible this year. So much for him going out with a bang...

All in all...the weekend was great. I had a wonderful time with my family and friends. Looks like next weekend will be pretty good too. Dusty already said he was going to pick up the boys and this weekend he moved so I hope he will be a little more stable now.

The Key to My Heart...

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to good manners and elegance.

In love, you feel the most alive when your partner is patient and never willing to give up on you.

You'd like to your lover to think you are optimistic and happy.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.

Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage something you've always wanted... though you haven't really thought about it.

In this moment, you think of love as commitment. Love only works when both people are totally devoted.
